Sierra Lin Rice!!!

She has arrived.  She was born at 1:05 pm  (April 16th) weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces.  Her length was 21 inches.  Mom and baby are beautiful and doing well!

windy, rainy beach trip!

My mom invited us to the coast for an overnight trip. Kelley had to work so just the girls and I went with her. We stayed in the WorldMark Resort in Depot Bay. 

Myself and two kids for one overnight trip yielded this:

 That didn't even include the bags of activities for the drive or the pillows, blankets, and puppy musics. Oh my!

After many MANY times hearing the questions: Where is the beach? When are we going to be there? This is what we saw:

Yep, our beloved Oregon Coast in February. We did venture out of the car for a brief minute so Seoul could see the sand & ocean right away. Then they got scared of the seagulls and wanted back in the car.

Seoul helped make crumb cake for our dessert. Now this her new favorite treat. Sydney discovered sprouts.

The girls loved the view of the water and the birds that were right outside.

So peaceful after a LONG bed time routine! They were so excited they just wouldn't settle down to go to sleep! As you can see we took the mattress off the box springs so Sydney wouldn't roll off the bed during the night. I ended up sleeping on that mattress with her.

The next morning it was all about going down to the beach. I explained to Seoul that it would be cold and rainy but they insisted. My mom and I agreed that we had to at least take them so they understood. We finally made it down to the water at Lincoln City by Mo's Restaurant. Of course we were the lone people out there because it was FREEZING. We walked out onto the sand. Seoul asked for the beach toys I had left in the car. I got them out and one minute later she was ready to go. At least we tried.

We went back to the unit so we could change out of our soaking clothes. The favorite activity was playing on their twin big beds. They dragged the blanket off my mom's king size bed and were pulling that around the unit. Oh, the simple things that entertain.

It was a beautiful view out the unit, though.

We met up with my mom's friend and her daughter (a lady that used to be in my ward, actually) for lunch. Then we braved the rain to go into a few of the little shops. The girls enjoyed this contraption that rolled balls around based on gravity. We ended the trip with some ice cream then the girls slept all the way home.

daddy-daughter days

Kelley has been adventurous and taken both girls to daddy-daughter day so I could have real me-time. Lately, though, he has alternated with one girl at a time because the girls (namely Sydney) get a bit crazy :) They still treasure their time with daddy. Plus I've had the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with them also, which is fun (although they like daddy better because he treats them to pop and candy - haha!).

Seoul is really getting into doing it all herself!

ward talent show

We went to the Ward Talent Show and had a lot of fun. There are some amazing people in our ward! The girls brought some art to share: Sydney brought her Fruit Loop art and Seoul shared her journal. She wants to be an artist when she grows up. The girls enjoyed dancing to all the singing and musical numbers.

The girls love our friend, Emma Evans! Sydney kept running over to sit with her. At one point I went to get dessert and Kelley thought Seoul had gone with me. I came back to just Kelley and Sydney. Seoul rarely leaves our side so to not know where she was gave us a small moment of panic. Kelley was just going to get up and search for her when I saw Adrienne (Emma's mom) wave at Seoul... she was sitting on Emma's lap! Whew!
