I had a birthday on the 25th. Happy Birthday to me! Exciting times.

It was cute to hear Seoul sing happy birthday to me all day!

These amazing people...

... made it a lovely day. It started with one of the BEST birthday presents from the girls - a solid 4 hours of sleep in a row (I know, if I would just go to bed earlier it could be more... maybe.)! Sydney slept 8 hours straight. THEN to top it off, we all three slept in until 8:30 AM! It's a rare day when both girls decide to sleep in on the same day. My brother surprised us with cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate.

We went to story time, which is always good times. My mom treated us to lunch - yum! In the afternoon we had family visit and Kelley got home early... with a dozen red roses and fixings for strawberry shortcake (my FAVORITE!).

Dinner was a delicious night out at the Cheesecake Factory. For the record, my favorite cheesecake there so far is the fresh banana cream pie cheesecake. HEAVEN! I did try something new and it was OK but not at the same delectable level as the banana cream.

It was a good time with my family. I'm ready for a new year of good times and growth. I'm truly blessed!

I got lots of phone calls and messages from family and friends - love you all!

CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM!

Seoul absolutely LOVES this book/video:

We checked this book out the beginning of last year and renewed it as many times as the library would let us because Seoul loved it. I'm convinced this is where she really got her foundation for knowing her letters. A few weeks ago she discovered it at the library again... then just recently we discovered the video. She has probably 60% of it memorized and goes around quoting it all day. It's adorable to show her the book and have her "read" it to us!

She reads Goodnight Moon quite often also. It's so fun to see her read to her baby or read to Sydney (often times this is what I see when I take showers). She only needs to hear the book a couple times to be able to finish phrases of the story. I admit the nerd in me LOVES that she shares my love of books!

This is the scene I discovered the other day after she said she had taken a nap. Little stinker!

NCAA Tourney Update

Going into the Sweet Sixteen, here are the scores:

Kelley - 46
Joo Lin - 41
Seoul - 17
Sydney - 35

Yep, Seoul is pretty much out of the competition because Wofford fell (thanks to the Cougs!)... so it looks like she'll be making dinners for a week. We'll get ready for hamburgers every night (her new fave).

[We are contemplating giving Seoul half the credit for Sydney's since she chose her bracket, too.]

Our two biggest blessings!

Oh, how we love these girls! Every day they make us smile, laugh, and every once in a while make us want to pull our hair out (or not in Kelley's case)!

Seoul amazes us every day with new knowledge and cute antics. Sydney gets more animated and responsive.

They love each other.

This keeps Seoul entertained every day... and wants us to play with her... EVERY HOUR!

This made me laugh A LOT... Seoul looks like the adoring sister and Sydney looks like she can't get far enough away from her.

Little head, big body!

Ok, so not BIG necessarily, but bigger than Seoul was at this age. We love our chubs so much… I love to kiss those cheeks!

Stats:
Length – 22-3/8” long (60th percentile)
Weight – 12 lb 5.5 oz (80th percentile)
Head – 14-3/4” (25th percentile)

Our poor girl took her shots like a champ. Cried while they happened then settled down and pretty much fell asleep. The doc said she is healthy and strong! Haha – he even said I could nurse less frequently because of her weight gain. Guess as a friend says, I produce cream rather than skim milk.

That time of year again!

 

Let the fun begin… NCAA College Basketball March Madness! The four of us have our brackets and we’re ready for the competition :) Kelley gave Seoul the options for match-ups and she was very specific about what she wanted. It was fun to hear her say the names of the schools rather than pick the pieces of paper like she did last year. Seoul helped Sydney create her bracket, the good big sister that she is. Essentially she loves Wofford and has them going all the way… we think because it sounds like “Clifford”… as in the big red dog. She’s a goof!

(So far I think the parents are ahead)

Happy 2-month Birthday Sydney!

Where did the time go?? Sydney is already two months old and we love her so much! {Even when she's screaming at the top of her lungs :)} She’s our precious little chubs… just look at those cheeks!

The highlights:

• She smiles!
• She coos!
• She is very alert and really focuses on us.
• She doesn’t like tummy time, but rolled over once randomly.
• She can hold her head up.
• She stands with support.
• She is starting to grip things.
• She sleeps pretty well – 4+ hours between feedings at night.

She has no idea what she’s in for… Seoul likes to accessorize her already! 

Our Little Snow Bunny!

Snow at the end of February.... really! I love snow! Seoul couldn't wait until it stuck overnight so she could play outside. She sat at the window forever just watching it fall... and narrating to me: lots of snow! fast snow! snow not falling anymore!

I love snow scenes... it always looks so picturesque!

As excited as she was to get bundled and go outside, she wasn't sure what to think at first...

Throwing snowballs at dad is twice as fun as throwing snowballs at mom!

Gotta taste it at least once... just stay away from yellow snow...

Sydney was pretty excited, too :)

I wasn't as fun as dad... couldn't really help her make snowballs with Sydney on my front.
