Hope Village

For the last couple years play group has made Valentine's to hand out to Hope Village. The kids have a lot of fun doing it! It's a great way to let the kids have a creative outlet... let's just say they LOVE using stickers! Then to serve others and share their love. We love our friends and fun experiences!

Sydney got away from me many times, the little adventurer! This time I found her at the top of the stairs across the lobby.

Happy Valentine's Day!

A couple days before Valentine's Day we made cookies with Grandma. Sydney enjoyed frosting and Seoul enjoyed putting the sprinkles on. Of course we all enjoyed eating them!

We started Valentine's Day with pink heart-shaped pancakes and pink milk. Yes, my girls are rather picky about colored food and didn't love it so much. Oh well, I tried.

After work daddy came home with Papa Murphy's heart-shaped pizza, which was pretty exciting. (They are making a heart with their hands - a sign they do with daddy.) The girls go a few small gifts - princess robes, new tights, box of Conversation Hearts (which they didn't love), and the big one was an aquarium with fish to come.

That night we got "heart-attacked" by some Young Women in the ward. So fun!

A few days later we went out to dinner and then picked out our fish. Seoul named them after yummy treats: yogurt shack, tootsie roll, sucker, sprinkle, and mint. Hilarious! (That was Sydney posing with the fish food she was excited to carry :)

treasure hunt

One of Seoul's favorite activities lately is to have treasure hunts. She has even gotten into making them for the family. She has different colored sticky notes and will write messages or draw pictures for each person in their assigned color and then we follow her around to find them. Love this girl and her fun activities!

a little of this, a little of that

The girls held hands while we went through the car wash. I rarely pay to have the car washed, and I have to think this was Sydney's first time through. Seoul afterward said it was like the hanging things were spanking the car!

The girls love spending time at Grandma's house after story time. 

Sydney sneaks away to play, and just like mom and sis, we can usually find her with some books.

The Wilsonville Library has a mural behind the children's portion of the building. Sad to say I've never noticed it before. Sydney was enthralled with it so Grandma asked permission to go out the locked door on a rainy day so the girls could check it out.

This Rapunzel braid I made for Seoul's 3rd birthday party is still played with almost daily! They love tug-of-war and "prisoner" (where I catch them and hold them tight and cackle wickedly).

Silly bathroom antics. They like being in there together.

This is just a sample of one of the million blurry pictures I have. So few pictures I take turn out these days because the girls are always on the move! Watching Sydney run in my tennis shoes was pretty amusing.

The girls love to draw and color. Sydney holds the pen correctly just like Seoul did at an early age. Both girls have a journal where they can draw pictures.

Sydney still couldn't give a nice smile when asked. They still love each other dearly!

Doctor Appointments

With two birthdays close together, it is nice to just have one appointment for both girls. I made the mistake of telling Seoul she wouldn't get shots this time... forgetting about the flu shot (yes, pretty late in the season). She was a champ getting her stats taken and doing the hearing/vision tests.

The doctor was super impressed by Sydney's speaking skills and that she is potty trained. She's our little smarty pants!

Weight: 37 lbs (65th percentile)

SYDNEY
Height: 35" (75th percentile)
Weight: 29 lb 12 oz (80th percentile)
* as a note the doctor said I could feed Sydney less... yeah right - like she'd let that happen!

We're very glad the girls are healthy and progressing quite nicely.

Super Bowl XLVII

Kelley was pretty excited that the San Francisco 49ers were in the Super Bowl this year. Unfortunately they didn't pull through but it was still a day of yummy food! The girls do get into sports when Kelley does - imitating his clapping and his "argh!" moments.

Seoul's Birthday Party

Since Seoul's 3rd birthday she wanted an "S" themed party. What is that, you may ask? Good question - even now I don't have a great answer. Good thing kids are so easy-going! It was a small shindig and we tried to incorporate the elements she wanted.

A funny puppet show put on by our dear friend, Emma and her Aunt Tenley.

A treasure hunt. Kelley did an excellent job making a map and incorporating fun obstacles for the kids. They got their gift bags along the way - sports stickers, sunglasses, straws, and ended with starburst candies.

A pinata, which had nothing to do with the "S" theme but she wanted one. What our baby wants, our baby gets, right? :) {I was just pleased she participated since at other peoples' parties she doesn't want to hit it!}
