Weekend in North Bend

 

First stop, Keizer to see Grandma Salway. She is such a sweet lady and we love visiting with her! Funny story: a man observed we had three girls. He asked Kelley if we were trying for a boy. Kelley said yes. Next thing he knows the man has his hand on his shoulder and the man is praying. For him to have a boy. Then Kelley is “blessed” that he will have twin boys. [This happened. For real.] So twin boys it is!

      

Next stop, Coos Bay! Well, in theory that was the plan but with three kiddos there were MANY stops between here and there. I’m not sure what happened but we really did stop far too often than was needful. Oh well, we made it safely. The DVD player saved us.

     

 

          

Sydney somehow got a hold of Kelley’s phone during church and took some self portraits. She’s hilarious and so darn cute! 

     

                                   

Our friends, the Drechsler family… Kelley has known them since he was young. They’ve watched him change from “hoodlum” to the person he is today. It’s always nice visiting with them.

  

A weekend full of family, fun, and the beach. What more could we ask for? The weather was very nice. Sydney had no fear with the water. Seoul would run to it and then run away from it. With approaches at opposite ends of the spectrum, both managed to enjoy themselves thoroughly and love the beach! Sierra just hung out and slept. It’s always nice to get away for a little family vacation!

Bowling fun with friends!

For play group we went bowling. The girls had fun and didn’t peter out by the end like last time. Whew! We have such fun friends, and we’re so glad to make neat memories.

I thought it was so cute the kids loved baby Sierra!

A teenager now but she is good about getting down on the floor and playing with the girls.

 

These girls had so much fun outside as it started raining! The girls call Ella their best friend!

The girls sure do love these cousins of theirs! They are so good with the younger kidlets. I can’t believe I’ve watched them grow from birth to pre-teen / teenage-hood… just a foreshadow of how quickly time goes by.

Happy 5 month birthday little one!

Yep, it's been 5 short months since Sierra joined our family. Can't believe it! She is a happy, healthy, wiggly chatterbox. She has rolled a few times but is still OK on tummy time (during which she rotates in a circle). Slowly but surely she is learning the art of sitting up on her own. She's a good eater. Lately a not-so-great sleeper (but we hope she will go back to her norm of being a fantastic sleeper). Her hair is calming down and she is growing like a weed. In the next couple weeks she will get to try out her eating skills. She sticks out her tongue a lot (which doesn't make me think she will do well eating quite yet but oh well). The drooling and spitting up have reduced to a minimum, which makes me happy. She chews on toys, hands, blankets... whatever she can reach & get in her mouth. What else? She recognizes & responds to her name - pretty fun. We can't get enough of those smiles. The girls love to make her giggle, which in turn makes me giggle - ha!

May days go by…

The girls and I just had a little fun with the camera one afternoon. Definitely not easy fitting 4 of us in a picture at once, especially holding a newborn and trying to get the angle right. Solution? We all just lay on the floor. I took so many pictures but we had so much fun together! The pic of the girls laying facedown next to each other fills me with two emotions: laughter that they look so silly and awe that at one point Seoul and Sydney were as small as Sierra. Wow.

 

It happened. Sierra got the sticker treatment from Seoul and Sydney. I seem to always have random stickers somewhere on me. I found Sierra and they had got to her. They had a discussion: Seoul wanted to put a big sticker on her but Sydney said she needs a little sticker because she’s a little baby. So they compromised and used a “medium” sticker. Silly girls!

 

One morning a friend took Seoul and Sydney to play. I thought of all the things I should get done. What did I do? I sat and cuddled Sierra and we napped together. I need to enjoy my little girl before I blink and she’s independent!

The other girls had so much fun dressing up and having a tea party. What great friends we have!

 

Of course we had to get to the park this summer. It cracks me up to hear: Seoul, wait – I’m coming! ~or~ I will meet you over there! Sydney has become very independent this summer – up the ladders, down the slides, up on the toys herself. It’s so fun to watch her try new things and see her pleasure when she masters it.

I just found these pictures on the camera. Maybe when cousin Amanda baby-sat…? Their expressions are so silly… especially Sydney in the background. We have such silly, cute, fun girls!
