Preschool field trip to the Fire Station

We have never been to this Fire Station and it was fun. The funniest part was the fireman giving the tour said it was the first time Cinderella slippers and dollies had ever been in the cab of a fire truck. Yep, that would be my girls! Such a fun time. I appreciate all the neat experiences we get with this fun group of kids and our activities.

the beauty of a rose

Seoul's favorite part of her dance performance was the flowers she received afterward She insisted I hang them upside down in her room so they can dry in a bouquet. I think she felt so grown up. The small things that make a little girl feel so special.

I can’t even express how much I LOVE these three little girls of ours! They are best friends and they play so well together. They also fight well together but make up so quickly. They are each strong-willed, but loving and tender at times. They are loyal to each other. I love that they miss each other when they are apart. I hope that throughout life they will realize what a treasure they have in each other.

 

I am one blessed mama! I believe they will surpass me in every area of life and excel.

Our owl in “Alice in Wonderland”

Seoul had her big debut as a dancer! Allegro Dance put on the performance “Alice in Wonderland” and Seoul had her part down pat. She was nervous but she did amazing! Admittedly, I was worried she wouldn’t even go out on stage but she did and danced and even waved! That’s our girl! Kelley & I were so proud our hearts were bursting. Sierra and Sydney [and Kelley] were such good sports to sit through all three performances.

She was an owl with a cute pink sequined costume. She endured me practicing buns. Her favorite part was wearing make-up, of course! She is all girl.

 

We had great family representation supporting Seoul! Plus we got to see the cute new babe of the family – Odin!

  

     

 

Then the big performances, two matinees and an evening performance. Quite a lot for a little one to handle, but Seoul was a champ! She enjoyed getting all dolled up. She LOVED getting flowers after the first performance. Lots of family came to support the beauties: Seoul, Amanda, and Ella. So fun!

     

 

Show time! The lighting was terrible for the pictures of Seoul – different lights or the light pink of the costumes with lots of sequins. I don’t know. I have the video if anyone wanted to see – haha!

I marvel again at how her confidence is increasing. These kinds of activities are so good at encouraging new experiences and being brave when things are scary.

  

Ella is on the left in red (arms up). Amanda is on the right in purple (front center). Aren’t they beautiful?! I remember going to their first recitals and they were so little and cute.

Last year when we watched Ella and Amanda dance in the June performance Seoul said she wanted to be a ballerina. She was enthralled with the ballet portions… not so much into the jazz or hip hop because she doesn’t like the loud music. She said maybe when it was her turn they would do “Tangled.” Well, that didn’t happen but this was an exciting experience, and I don’t know that she even remembers saying that.

Growing girls!

We have a new pediatrician because of retirement (darn those old people wanting their own life now!). The new lady is pretty funny, though, and finds the girls to be hilarious! Our timing is interesting because Sierra’s quarter appt falls right into the year checks for the girls. What timing we have!

Funny: I had Seoul hold Sierra after being checked so I could help Sydney. Once I put Sierra on her lap Seoul exclaimed, “I don’t want to hold a naked woman!” The new doc laughed and laughed that she used the word “woman” to refer to a baby girl.

The girls are healthy, wealthy, and wise! I love it!

Sierra cried for just a second at her shots then calmed down. Sydney shed more tears than that but still did just fine. A sucker can cure tears! {and points for Seoul that she didn’t pout that she didn’t get a sucker this time.}

Ella is a favorite person in our household. She has been to the field trips for Seoul’s preschool because she is best friend’s with the director’s daughter. We went to Pump It Up for one of the field trips. Seoul surprised me and went off on her own and went down the slide over and over. Here is a few minutes where she was going down with Ella. I love the genuine smile of joy on Seoul’s face. This makes all the craziness of parenting worth it… the smile on your child's face causing you to spontaneously smile. Every. Time.

growing confidence

Within the last 6 months Seoul has really made great strides in overcoming her timid behaviors. She started preschool – new teachers and new environments to become accustomed to – as well as started dance class. Now it pleases me to see her talk to other people, venture out on the playground {with Sydney, of course}, and grow in her own talents and abilities.

Here are just a couple pictures I snagged from one of her classes. She’s so cute out there! In the beginning she wouldn’t participate in a lot of it according to the teacher, but now she does 95% of it and even smiles while doing it. They are doing animals walks in this exercise.

Happy 9 month birthday Sierra!

This sweet girl is on the verge of crawling. She gets around by laying on her stomach, then sitting up, then laying down again…. or just scooting backward on her stomach. She loves table food and Cheerios! She is starting to catch on to sign language! “Please” and “more” are the signs she can use now. Her smile lights up the room. She is petite and sweet and such an easy going baby. Love her!

Kelley went to Orlando. Again. Lucky dog!

Kelley attended a Citrix Summit in Orlando in January. I have no idea what this is about. I am putting his trip on here, but expect him to add narration at some point. Looked like a fun trip, though! I’m envious of the HUGE bed with no children in it AND his luck to see Bon Jovi at Universal Studios. He did FaceTime so I could hear one of his songs – he’s my favorite (Bon Jovi, that is).

                                      

We sure miss him when he’s gone! At least we get to FaceTime often on our phones. The girls love that! We do love that he gets to experience new things. Plus the girls like that he brings them presents!
