Preschool - letter S

S is still Seoul's favorite letter :)

I will toot my own horn for using Pinterest (I still don't fully get it...!) for finding these cute Suns for snack time. Two delicious treats that are healthy!

I focused on the 5 Senses this lesson. Pudding for practicing their letters. This group of kids does not like to get their fingers dirty! Some kids wanted wipes after every time they touched it. Only one kiddo ate it, which totally surprised me! Then I had trays of things to smell, touch, taste, feel, and had an app for sounds on my phone. I didn't get any pictures of those activities. It was funny to watch the hesitation when we would first try something then they all got into it. It is so fun teaching and playing with these kids - love them!

The S project was to color and create a Snake. Such concentration. They had specific ways they wanted to decorate it. I suggested stripes or something beginning with S. The girls decided on snowflakes (yes, inspired by Elsa from Frozen).

These cuties participate how they can. Sydney does not like being left out. This time Sierra ate a lot of Cheerios :)

Children’s Museum

This is such a fun place to go. Pretty spendy so we don’t go often but the girls love it. Hands on water activities, story time with a tree house to play in, digging, and face paint. What more could we need for hours of fun?!

           

The favorite: the Vet clinic. Seoul wants a little yellow dog. For real.She cried when we had to leave the stuffed yellow dog there.

Happy 10-month birthday Sierra!

Our sweetheart is growing like a weed! Well, physically she’s tiny but she is growing in personality and developmental milestones. It goes faster with each child, I think. We love her to pieces, though!

Sierra has 3 teeth and loves food. She eats her own lunch then finishes off Sydney & Seoul’s sometimes. She knows her signs for ‘more,’ ‘all done,’ ‘please,’ and ‘thank you.’ She blows kisses and waves good-bye. She babbles a lot and is SO close to syllables that sound like words. She is petite and people say she looks like a doll. Love her!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Kelley believes that every day should be Valentine's Day :)

We keep it pretty low key. Small gifts for each of the girls. Sad to say, but I honestly don't remember what I got. Besides flowers.

Seoul let me try the heart hairstyle on her. She couldn't really see it but I thought it was cute :)

We went to Hope Village to deliver Valentine's again this year. The residents love the little kids and it's great to teach the kids about service and making others happy. I love them... such a great group of kids. Look at all those unique personalities!

Then tonight we got heart-shaped pizzas from Papa Murphy's. Good times! I love my family and the time we spend together.

random videos

I think I've finally figured out this posting video thing... a way that is much simpler than how I was trying to do it before! I love technology, but sometimes it really is frustrating! So now you get random videos that are just fun for us to watch :)

Sierra discovered the microphone on the kitty piano and was having fun with it. I really like this stage of discovering toys and what they are capable of. The pleased look on a child's face when they master something.

Seoul is in ballet and while she says she doesn't love it, I think she does :) She doesn't have the best technique but it has been great to watch her blossom in participating.

Seoul was teasing Sierra with a sucker. Mean sister!

Just a few little things

One night I asked Sydney to go get pj’s and bring them to me. She was gone for a long time, which wasn’t unusual. However, when I heard no noise or thumping, I went to investigate. The little cutie had put herself to bed because as she said, “My bed looked so comfortable and I wanted to relax.” Wish it were this simple every night!

 

Sierra is pulling herself up things and likes playing with toys these days. She likes to just gaze at people. What a joy she is!

 

This kid loves the dryer. She stares at herself in the reflection, and as you can see… gives herself regular kisses. Goofy girl!

 

Grandma hadn’t seen the movie Frozen  yet [Oh, the horror!] so we trekked out in the blizzard for the third viewing of this beloved show. The girls were in heaven and sang along to all the songs! The best part of watching kids movies is hearing the giggles and seeing the delight on their faces.

 

Seoul wrote out all the Valentine’s for her two preschool classes. She was a champ. When we got to a certain boy on the list she would not stop giggling! Heaven help us but I think she was even blushing!

We are in such trouble when these three beauties are older!

 

I love that these girls could do arts and crafts all day long! Well, besides the incredible mess they make and as soon as they’re done they’re TOO TIRED to put things away. I love their creations and their coordination in coloring. It’s neat that they remember specific details from the Princesses to use in their own colors. [Sometimes it’s super annoying because I don’t remember and they get so frustrated with me when I can’t help them.] Sierra is already into “coloring” also, although she does get some good swipes on the paper once in a while.]

     

 

Sydney is transitioning out of naps. So, when we do errands she falls asleep in the car. Well, this time she never woke up when I took her out. She slept 75% of the time we were in Target. Sierra is just super happy she gets to be a big girl and sit in the front of the cart. She is always super smiley!

Snow Days!!

The day the girls had been waiting for finally came. Snow! Lots of it. Multiple days! The sad part was that Sydney was sick but I still let her go out because really... who can stop a toddler, especially Sydney?! I couldn't be the mean mom to say no to something that rarely happens. The girls were in HEAVEN! It is funny that they love it but they don't last super long outside.

Sierra wasn't sure what to think of the severe coldness. She kept touching the snow with one finger. Eventually she hung out inside and watched the fun. We kept her entertained with our silly antics, though.

Meet Olaf #1.

The girls thought it was great fun to chase me around with snowballs. They got me pretty good a couple times. Then they would retreat behind the big wall Kelley built.

After the snow went away the first time, Seoul put Elsa in the window to create another snow storm. Lo and behold, she did! Oh, the powers of Disney Princesses.

When Kelley threw snowballs at the window, Sierra was startled initially but then thought it was pretty fun.

Kelley did not love my white trash make-shift sled. Sydney didn't love it either, I have to admit. Oh well, I tried.
